What to Do When You're on an EMOTIONAL Roller-coaster

Are you feeling like the whole world has gone crazy? Are you feeling emotional shifts like never before? Maybe you’re lonely and feeling uncertain about life in general and even more uncertain about finding love.

It’s okay to feel our feelings.

We don’t have to be strong and have our you know what together every moment.

Maybe feeling a bit lost, confused and even a little scared is a good thing. Sometimes we need a jolt out of what we think is normal. Maybe it’s time to change our minds about things - ideas and beliefs that don’t serve and support us in living our best lives.

It’s important to sit with pain and be brave enough with ourselves to admit that we’ve been travelling along a path that does not lead to where we really want to go. So today I’m sharing a few steps I personally take to be gentle with myself and also to move from being stuck too long in a negative energy pattern.

Step 1: Allow yourself to sit with the emotion, whatever it is. Be curious and ask what’s going on for you and why you may be feeling that way.

Step 2: What is the lesson or change you want to make? It might be as simple as, “I don’t want to continue being alone.”

Step 3: Ask, what small step I can take in the moment to pull myself up into a better feeling state of mind. My go-to tool is Tapping or Emotional Freedom Technique - very powerful, easy to do and something you can do anytime once you learn about it. I teach my clients this technique and they always love it and tell me how much it’s helped them.

Step 4: Take 5 minutes to feel into what you are grateful for in this moment. Even better take out a pen and paper and make a gratitude list - the more you write the better you’ll feel.

Step 5: Decide to take a step forward into action even if it’s just a baby step. Do something physical and productive for yourself, your health and/or something productive or creative. (Take a walk, bake blueberry muffins or whatever suits you.)

Step 6: Decide to be a part of the solution for yourself first. We really can’t be too helpful to others with an empty cup. Fill yourself with love and gratitude and share. Be the Light you want to see in the world.
